JGU’s grand freshers’ celebrations, combine vibrant performances and activities to warmly welcome new students into the campus community.
JSJC Reading Circle
The JSJC Reading Circle is a recurring event conducted by the students of the journalism school. For every meet-up, a unique theme is selected, catering to which attendees read, share, and narrate stories and anecdotes. This semester, the Reading Circle’s theme was rain— “Qissa-E-Baarish.”
Meet the Expert— Prince Dhawan
Led by Professor Ambreen Khan at the Jindal School of Journalism and Communication, this event offered students an insight into the career trajectory of Prince Dhawan’s, an IAS officer by profession. The discussion touched upon what being an expert in a particular field entails, as well as the idea of being a student at any and every age of one’s life. Mr Dhawan spoke about his journey in the field, how he creates impact, his experience of being a Fulbright scholar at Harvard, and his thoughts on India on the global stage.






15th University Day Celebrations
On 30th September 2024, JGU celebrated its 15th University Day, which marked 15 years since the first academic session at JGU was held. At the celebrations, the university recognised the accomplishments of JGU students and staff.

Master Class by Mr. Vijayendra Prasad
Eminent director, screenwriter, and Member of Parliament Vijayendra Prasad held an interactive masterclass for the students of JGU on 9 October 2024.



BITE
An annual event conducted by the Biswamil Organising Committee, Bite is conducted in the run-up to the most awaited event of the fall semester— the annual cultural fest, Biswamil. Bite celebrates food, inviting students to enjoy cuisines from across India, alongside groovy tunes and irresistible knick-knacks.

Biswamil 2025, JGU’s flagship cultural fest, spanned three exhilarating days, uniting students from NCR campuses in a vibrant celebration of talent and creativity. The event featured exciting competitions like dance-offs, rap battles, band performances, nukkad natak, photography, and a dazzling fashion show.
Musical acts like K Star, Divya Bhatt, DJ Garry, Pragati, Vinay Verma, and Sahil Gulati delivered electrifying performances. The highlight was a mesmerizing set by playback singer Mohit Chauhan, who captivated the audience with hits like Tum Ho and Sadda Haq.
Garba Night
A lively and colourful evening at JGU filled with energetic dance, and traditional music, bringing the campus together to celebrate the festival spirit.



JGU Diwali
An early celebration of lights and togetherness before the break, featuring high-energy dance, mehendi evening, and festive décor to mark the joy of Diwali.
Talk on the State of Media Today by Tavleen Singh
Renowned veteran journalist, Tavleen Singh, conducted a talk on her journey as a political reporter in the country, narrating her experiences throughout the period of the Emergency, up until her time as a columnist for The Indian Express.




An Afternoon with Sarthak
Popular radio jockey, Sarthak from 94.3 Radio ONE India, led a discussion surrounding his passion for the radio, and what it means to be one of the most famous voices in today’s India.




Celebrating 75 years of the Indian Constitution
JGU’s Policy Corner, in collaboration with the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy's Student Council, held a two-day event in honour of 75 years of the Indian Constitution.



Opening of the Constitution Museum at JGU
Between 23 November and 25 November 2024, JGU inaugurated India’s first Constitution Museum to commemorate 75 years of the Indian Constitution. The two-day event saw the unveiling of Samvid, India’s first virtual tour guide, panel discussions, public lectures, and fireside chats.
